Pathways for Keene, Inc. (“PFK”) is a non-profit, 501 C(3),  all-volunteer organization that promotes the development, maintenance, and enhancement of trails throughout the City of Keene, New Hampshire.  Funding for trails is raised at the Annual 4 on 4th Race in Keene.
Solar Lighting Trail Project
Pathways for Keene (PFK) is requesting proposals for solar light posts for lighting the Cheshire Rail Trail from Island Street to Pitcher Street approximately 2500 feet. The purpose of the lighting is to expand the use of the trail for a few extra hours in the evening and early morning.  The objectives are to enhance the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists during those hours and to encourage alternative commuting routes. PFK has devoted funding from both 2016 and 2017 for this solar lighting project. The installation of these light posts will be completed by the City of Keene.
We request 3 hard copies of these proposals (preferably double-sided) to be sent to Pathways for Keene, Inc., P.O. Box 226, Keene, New Hampshire 03431, or call Jan Manwaring, Secretary of the Board of Directors of PFK at 352-7185 for pick-up if within 20 miles of Keene.
All proposals must be received by September first (09/01/2017).

The process of selection will include both the three-person committee authorized by the Board of Directors of PFK as well as the final selection and vote by the entire Board.
Please be well organized and succinct in your proposal, and include the following aspects of the light posts: • Minimum and Maximum of feet candles to Average • The pole height of 15 feet above ground  • Pole description: material, color  • Type of foundation required for the pole with the attached solar lighting feature • Description of the solar panel and its discharge and recharge requirements • Battery Type and size including duration of battery life in years and hours/night • Duration of Fixture and Pole Life in  years • Warranty periods for battery and fixture • Type of sensors • Date of delivery of fixture • Correlated color temperature under 3600K
Pathways for Keene requires that the light fixture be fully operational prior to installation including the battery being charged.  Feel free to provide further information that you consider to be pertinent to this project.
We also require a picture of the fixture and pole in your proposal.
All information, data, documents, photos, and other materials included in your proposal will be  considered the property of Pathways for Keene.
